Connors Wins Season Opener at Daytona

Josh Connors made quite the debut in the ASL Elite Series by winning the Spring 2021 season opener at Daytona. After a chaotic sequence of cautions earlier in the race, Connors maintained control of the race late and held off series veteran Mark Jenkins for the victory.

Kicking off the night were twin 15-lap duels, which were won by Adam Matz and Rob Jenkins. The 60 lap feature race was slowed by five cautions, with many competitors damaged in a series of wrecks during the final half of the race. The race got off to a rocky start thanks to a race control issue where the field was inadvertently inverted prior to the green flag. After the administrators sorted out the correct running order, a chain reaction crash due to a missed shift at the front of the field took out several drivers, including polesitter Michael LeMieux.

Next week, the series heads to Auto Club Speedway. Catch all the action live on Trackside Racing Network!
