Rookie Kian Raleigh continued his strong start in ASL competition with a win at Phoenix Raceway. A late caution during the green flag pit sequence put Raleigh in position to overtake Johnny Avila for the lead, and he never looked back.
For the first 75 laps, Steve Yenisch dominated; however, the untimely caution for a Mark Jenkins spin occurred as his Ford Mustang was receiving service on pit road. He ended up having to take the wave-around and eventually worked his way up to a fifth place finish at the end.
Bentley Glaser never led a lap despite sitting on the pole, but was up front the entire race and finished a strong second place. Trent Ringler finished third and Avila ended up in fourth. Further back, Brett Adams achieved his first career top 10 finish, coming home in ninth.
The Elite Series is off for the NASCAR All Star Weekend and will return on June 20 at Michigan Speedway.
