Bentley Glaser moved into sole possession of third place on the all time ASL Elite Series, winning his first race of the season at Martinsville Speedway. Of Glaser’s seven career victories, five have come at tracks of one mile distance or less.
At the beginning of the race, Tyler Saville looked poised for his first career victory, as he started from the pole and led 98 laps en route to the opening stage victory. However, after the stage break, he got mired in traffic and an accident took him out of contention.
Michael Trevarthen finished second, a tie for his best career finish. Todd Cray rallied from an early four lap deficit from repairing damage to finish third. Mark Jenkins finished fourth and Calum McNicol captured his second career top 5 to round out the top finishers.
It was a rough race for many championship favorites, with points leader Hunter Waters, prior champions Johnny Avila and Steve Yenisch all involved in accidents.
The Elite Series heads next to Charlotte Motor Speedway for its third crown jewel race of the season. Catch the action live on Trackside E-Sports.
