Bentley Glaser took advantage of fresh tires on a late-race restart and passed Adam Matz in the final corners to close out his third consecutive race win at Dover International Speedway. The win puts Glaser in sole possession of second place on the all-time ASL wins list.
Glaser ended up being one of the few drivers up front who avoided pit road miscues over the course of the race. Johnny Avila led 29 laps during the first half of the race, but was bitten by a speeding penalty on pit road. Steve Yenisch also was in contention at the front of the pack and lost three laps due to a speeding penalty. Finally, Jeff Yenisch led a race-high 65 laps and let the race slip through his fingers after speeding on pit road during the final caution.
After staying out on slightly older tires than the rest of the field, Matz appeared poised to grab his second race of the season, however, the last lap pass by Glaser spoiled things. Connors finished third after being in contention all day. David Camarra continued his hot streak, finishing fourth and Darryn Clement rounded out the Top 5.
The Elite Series heads to Road America and Talladega for its second double-header of the season. Catch the action live on Trackside E-Sports on Sunday, October 24.
