ASL newcomer Joe Burchett stole the show in the Super Late Model Tour debut at New Smyrna Speedway. Burchett finished ahead of Bentley Glaser and fellow Overtake Motorsports rookie Levi Allen to take the victory.
In all, it was a dominating night for Burchett, as he won the pole position, his heat race and led 132 of 140 laps. Justin Gann won the second heat race and finished fifth. Jeff Yenisch was the only driver to lead a lap besides Burchett, however the tire strategy that got him the brief lead ended up not working out in his favor, as he faded to a fourth place finish.
In all, it was an exciting debut for the Super Late Model Tour. The series visits Myrtle Beach Speedway for its second event in March. For the next several race weekends, the flagship Elite Series will kick off its fifth season in the Gander Outdoors Trucks. Its first race will take place at Kansas Speedway on January 16.
