Waters Wrecks Across Line for the Win at Daytona

Hunter Waters and Derek Pemberton battled door-to-door off Turn 4 on the final lap, but only Waters made it to the line, taking his first win of the season at Daytona.

Pemberton and Waters slammed doors for most of the short chute approaching the start-finish line, but Pemberton ended up getting the short end of the stick, tumbling into the catch fence as Hunters slid into the grass. Pemberton failed to finish the race, while Waters regained control to take the victory.

Behind Waters, Ray Polking, Jesse Bunnell, Patrick Desaulnier and Kyle Bromir rounded out the Top 5.

The Elite Series has just two races remaining in the regular season, with Lucas Oil Raceway up next on the schedule.
