Johnny Avila won at Auto Club Speedway and secured his spot in the Championship Four at Chicagoland Speedway. This marks Avila’s fifth straight championship race appearance, and he will officially be in contention for his second ASL Elite Series championship.
Avila led 67 laps and won his fourth win of the season. Bentley Glaser charged hard in the late stages, but was ultimately unable to pass Avila despite having two lap fresher tires during the final pit cycle.
Seven other drivers will compete for three remaining spots in the championship race at World Wide Technlogy Raceway next week. Those include Glaser, Hunter Waters, Todd Cray, Jesse Bunnell, Justin Gann, Jeff Yenisch and defending champion Duane Hunt.
