Ringler Makes it Three Straight With Win at Richmond

With a win at Richmond Raceway, Trent Ringler became the first driver to win three straight races in ASL Elite Series competition. The Indiana driver finished two seconds ahead of Johnny Avila, who pitted for tires with 40 laps remaining. Steve Yenisch, Josh Connors and Todd Cray rounded out the top 5.

The polesitter Cray led the early stages of the race, but eventually conceded the lead to William Kempf when pit strategies shuffled the running order after the halfway point. Kempf ended up finishing the race on old tires and faded to eighth, which was still an impressive feat after starting 17th.

With three races remaining in the regular season, Ringler holds the regular season points lead over Avila, Steve Yenisch, Bentley Glaser and Adam Matz. The series heads to Daytona for an exciting double-header at the road course and oval.
